what Up? It's me, ASHLEY TALIAFERRO
Designer. Artist. Amateur writer. Wannabe Illustrator. Made to create. Never without a sketchbook + pen. An idea factory with the uncanny ability to connect words, images, and people to their true talents. A spiritual creature who lives to explore the forgotten bits of life whether on the urban streets of Richmond or in the deep mountain valleys of the Blue Ridge.
My ORIGIN STORY begins @ age 6 when I wrote my 1st book out of construction paper (my mom still has the book to prove it). Shortly after I started keeping a journal recording the many joys of our family vacations including all the gross things my brothers did, which happened a LOT. My journals became my jewel boxes filled with hours of magazine clippings, pressed flowers, doodles, and my attempts to design my own typography before I even knew what a typeface was.
Flash forward to college when a professor told me I'd make 1 heck of a set designer in a random theater construction class. It was the push to finally realize that I was called to do something creative with my life I just had to figure out which direction I'd go 1st.
Study abroad in Jolly ol' England brought new inspiration when I became obsessed with Georgian interiors and the funny customs of Bath, England back in the 1700s. Yadah Yadah Yadah (yes notice the Seinfeld reference) I found a creative soulmate & I made my way down to Savannah, GA to earn my Masters in Interior Design. Today I spend my days designing interiors & graphics and my weekends getting my nature fix with my boys.
You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream. - C.S. Lewis
